Chris & Nick were married on July 27th, 2021 at Dewatto Campground in Dewatto, Washington. It was a woodsy whimsical wedding on one of the most perfect weather days in Washington. Not too hot, and no rain in sight.
I touched on how Chris & I are coworkers in their engagement blog, so being able to be a part of their wedding day was so sweet and touched a special place in my heart.
Chris & Nick wanted to keep things traditional and have the first time they see each other be down the aisle. So instead, they did a ‘First Touch’ which was just so sweet. After they read each other’s vows and opened their present from each other, it was time to get these two together! (Without seeing each other!) We found the perfect tree for them to reach around, and as soon as they held hands you could feel nerves slip away and excitement take it place!
We sent Nick on his way and finally walked the long way to the ceremony. Each step was one step closer to being married, and you could see it on Chris’ face that she couldn’t wait.
My favorite part of wedding days is ALWAYS the part that makes me cry. It’s different for every wedding, and for their wedding, it was the moment when R (Chris’ son) surprised Nick and asked him to adopt him!!! MY HEART. I’m starting to tear up again just thinking about it!
I don’t know if it was the heartfelt message R wrote, or the fact that Nick is such a good man to Chris + her kids that R wanted him to adopt him. Maybe it was both.
All I know is, I’m so beyond happy for Chris & Nick and I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of the their wedding day. It’s one I’ll always cherish and a marriage I can’t wait to see blossom!!
Congratulations Chris & Nick! Wishing you both nothing but many many years of love & happiness!!!
