As I sit here writing this, reminiscing on Maggie & Ian’s Leavenworth Wedding, I can’t help but smile. Maggie & Ian were married at Brown Family Homestead in Leavenworth, Washington, a place close to their hearts. I’ve had the privilege of knowing this sweet couple for a while now, as Ian was a groomsman at Allison & Jordan’s wedding, which also meant that I knew most of the wedding party and guests! The weather was perfect, the food from PLACE was incredible, the tears of love and joy fell freely, and the party started and never stopped! Rustic decor, with hints of pinks, blues, and purples, colorful flowers, a kickass wedding party, and incredible portraits Maggie & Ian’s wedding, tucked away in the hills of Leavenworth near Lake Wenatchee, was one I’ll never forget!
Maggie & Ian’s wedding at Brown Family Homestead in Leavenworth, Washington was one of those weddings, where I felt every bit of spark and love for my craft. Part of that was due to how stunning Brown Family Homestead is and how beautiful their wedding was, but most of it was due to Maggie, Ian and everyone that came to celebrate their love! Knowing that Maggie & Ian trusted every crazy thought I had brought my heart and creativity to life! I am so unbelievably proud of these photos and dare I say, they might be some of the best I’ve taken as of late!
Maggie & Ian tied the knot on the bottom of a hill overlooking the stunning mountains, surrounded by the love of their friends and family! It was a clear, very hot day, and the mountains were out and showing off for them! I couldn’t imagine a better day to not only start the rest of their lives but to also see Washington and all its beauty!
From getting ready to their private vows, every part of their beautiful day was filled with laughter and love. My job as a wedding photographer is pretty easy when you know and love your couples, but since I’ve met most of the wedding party and some of the guests at Maggie & Ian’s friends wedding (If you remember Allison & Jordan’s wedding!), my job was even EASIER! It was like catching up with old friends, meeting their new babies, and catching up with everyone’s mothers… It was an amazing day, and it felt like a party instead of ‘work’. (even in the 95-degree weather!!)
Some of my favorite moments include Maggie & Ian’s first look, which brought a couple of tears to my eyes, Maggie’s dance with her momma, which brought even MORE tears to my eyes, and my favorite moment of all, when the groomsmen took off their undershirt and partied with just vests. I’m convinced it’s a tradition at this point!
Maggie & Ian, I wish you both nothing but so many more years of love, laughter, and adventure! Thank you endlessly for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! Our friendship will never fade and I know that you two will have such an amazing life together, and I can’t wait to see it blossom!
